Angels of our Earthly Mother.

Here follows a wonderful discourse on the subject of Earth Sophia and Earth Angels by Elder Sarah.

We are in a constant exchange of sparks with the world around us. This exchange is happening through our relationships and interactions with the environment we live in. A vast majority of our environment is made up of stone and soil, herbs, shrubs and trees as well as creepy crawly ones, fined ones and the winged ones. We interact with the four legged and the two legged as well as the star people and beyond. All of these messengers are the angels of our Earthly Mother and it is through her messengers that we can commune in unity with her and as her. It is said in the teachings that the Human One gives voice to creation. Human Ones bring voice in our ability to receive the messages given by these messengers, in our ability to listen and hear, and our ability to notice what is transpiring within and all around. We bring voice because we notice and receive voice.

Within and all around stone people, plant people and animal people are always speaking. How is it that we might notice a special stone in a special moment, when most of the time we don’t notice at all? Or when we walk through the forest how a particular plant might pop out and speak to us. Or when a Hawk flies by in a particular moment and brings an answer to the Prayer we just spoke. This exchange is a constant, and it is through noticing this exchange and its interrelatedness that mysteries are revealed and prayers answered.

Earthly Angels or Angels of Our Earthly Mother is a term used in the tradition to describe Angels we might come in contact with that appear in an Earthly form. Just as Our Heavenly Father has Angels so too does our Earthly Mother. One could say Angels are Beings/ Forces that act as an interface between Creator and Creation. Angels of Our Heavenly Father are Angels whom abide in heavenly realms and dimensions, these Angels are contacted in the energy dimension and every now and again manifest in materiality. Angels of Our Earthly Mother however manifest all of the time in a material form as animal people, plant people and stone people.

These Angels of our Earthly Mother are noticed by way of observing our environment and taking notice of the energy within and around all things. Everything moves here in one gigantic web, all is interconnected. All of the time these Angels are moving in our lives, they are always answering prayers and bringing messages, we just need to be open to receive.

There are many ways in which we can notice these Angels and many ways in which they manifest. In animal people and plant people they seem to come and go. Sometimes remaining permanently and sometimes only remaining for a certain duration of time or even for a certain moment. In stone people they seem to remain most of the time, if a stone appears luminous then most of the time it remains luminous. For example, one could encounter a large crystal that clearly has an Angel moving with it and it is clear this Angel abides all of the time with this crystal and at the same time one could encounter a crystal the same size and clearly see it is just a stone person that happens to be a large crystal.

In plant people these Angels come and go according to season, time and medicines that manifest with and as them. A dear sister of mine once said that on her regular walks on the rivers bank, some seasons she will notice certain plants growing that were not growing in that location the last season. Of these plant she said often the medicine associated with them becomes prophetic of what is needed for the people in that time and in that space. You could say these plants are Angels communicating medicine needed for the people.

In animal people these Angels arrive in particular moments often bearing messages of that moment or space in time. Look at the example found in 1 kings 17:3 regarding these Angels manifesting as Ravens:

“Go from here and turn eastward, and hide yourself by the Wadi Cherith, which is east of the Jordan. You shall drink from the Wadi, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there. So he went and did according to the word of the Lord; he went and lived by the Wadi Cherith, which is east of the Jordan. The ravens brought him bread and meat in the evening; and he drank from the wadi.”

Angels of our Earthly Mother appearing in animal form come often as a sign that something is auspicious or is inauspicious and remind us to look into what it is we are doing. They can be an affirmation of a particular movement we are involved with, it is in this way they are often answers to our prayers.

All of these Angels embody certain energies and it is through our Earthly knowledge of these being we might be able to look and see what it is Creator is communicating. They are all part of this vast creation that arises as many and one at one the same time. How Beautiful!

May we be blessed to look and see, to listen and hear your Angels Holy Mother!

Carlos Castaneda's Don Juan discusses this phenomena as finding agreement with the Universe. It does take being in the moment and being observant. We can synchronize our lives with the Universe. You can imagine how difficult it is to do this in a metropolitan area as vast as New York.

Someone once said, TO BE SPIRITUAL IN A SPIRITUAL SETTING IS EASY. THE DIFFICULTY IS IN BEING SPIRITUAL AMONG THE PEOPLE AND THE EVENTS OF EVERYDAY LIFE.

True Capt, it seems to be the challenge of our times, not to find the spiritual in remote places but in our immediate environment. It seems to me that we have to heal the separation that is seen in general between nature and human, and awaken the connection in ourselves again. As above so below, outside as inside.

I have never thought of the Heavenly Angels as being of the Father and of the Earthly Angels being of the mother, are you saying that there are two different categories of angels? Are the physical manifestions representation or portals, if you will, for the heavenly angels?

Elissa, Where the angels of our heavenly Father end and the angels of our earthly Mother begin, no one knows. They are completely interdependent and interconnected and thus inseparable. The Holy Spirit is the Mother Spirit, thus, thus nature is conceived of as a manifestation of the Divine. We may rightly say that the Earth itself is the Body of God the Mother, and the features of this body (mountains, oceans, ect.) being called "angels of our Earthly Mother," as are all our kindred creatures - all emanations of her, as much as of our Heavenly Father. There are also other manifestations of the Mother's womb in connection to other aspects of the Divine Mother. For example, the respite of souls in the seven heavens is the womb of the Mother as the Queen of Heaven, and the Supernal Abode is as the womb of the Supernal Mother - as though each reality-display is a womb of a different aspect of God the Mother. In this sense it seems that we go from womb to womb, matrix to matrix in the process of our coming into substantial being. In other words, we are always in the Mother, in God, passing from one manifestation of the Divine Body to another.

Essentially, speaking of the Earthly Mother, the teachings indicate the immanent presence of God/dess within our present experience and daily living, and reminds of the purpose and meaning of material incarnation, the blessedness of life, and sacred unity underlying all life. In discourses on the Earthly Mother we are invited into an intimate communion with Divine Being, here and now, in all of our activities, and in all things. Quite truly, we live and move and have our being in the Earthly Mother, just as in our inmost part we live and move and have our being in the kingdom of the Heavenly Father - in truth, this Mother and Father are not two but are One: the Holy One of Being.

The teachings on the Earthly Mother offer a simple path of spiritual wisdom, akin to what one finds in Native cultures and spirituality - thus, often times, the Earthly Mother and the angels of our Earthly Mother is a large focus of householders seeking a simple but powerful spirituality. Essentially, it is a spirituality and communion via Nature and the Earth, which yet holds an awareness of the transcendence of the soul and Deity - thus making a good vehicle for the cultivation of the Non-dual Gnostic Awareness.

Dialogues on the Earthly Mother are especially important today, considering the plight of the environment because of the lack of her wisdom in our unenlightened societies. Her gnosis is integral to the Second Coming, according to the masters of the tradition, and is perhaps key to restoring an essential balance in our modern cultures and societies. (Perhaps even critical to the survival of the human race.)

The Earthly Mother is an important teaching in Sophian Gnosticism, for it invokes our walking in holiness, our walking on the earth in a sacred manner, which is to say aware of our connection with life and all that lives - "all our relations" as Native American peoples would say. It invokes a communion in our daily lives, for we know we literally walk in the body of our Divine Mother and, thus, we can commune constantly with her - in air, fire, water and earth, in the environment, in all things. Likewise, all good creatures are as her angels, and the spirits of places in nature are her angels too.......with this awareness life is sacred as it is, and it is magical as it is, and we are nurtured by life in its simplicity. Perhaps this, in and of itself, is the tikkune of consumerism.
